Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

The Spine Institute of Louisiana is seeking either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to add to its team of clinical professionals.

The mid-level providers at the Spine Institute of Louisiana act as an extension of the physician, working side by side with them in both the clinic and surgery settings.

Responsibilities include:

  • First assist (neurosurgery & spine cases)
  • Hospital rounds
  • Initial evaluations
  • Injections
  • Pre-op and Post-op H&P’s
  • Prescriptions
  • Coordinate with Physical Therapist and ATC’s
  • Ordering tests and evaluate X-Ray, CT scan and MRI
  • Seeing Patients in Clinic and Ultimately Running a Clinic Independent of Physician

The position averages 45 hours per week with minimal weekends and  evenings. Call is 1/8. Successful candidate should be AANP or NCCPA-certified/eligible.  New graduates are welcomed to apply.  The location is in Shreveport, Louisiana, a southern city with magnet programs in the public schools as well as 3 magnet elementary schools, a magnet middle school and high school, several universities local or nearby (LSU-S, Centenary College, Louisiana Tech, Grambling, and ULN), a metro airport, affordable housing, wide variety of outdoor activities, culture and cuisine, and a very reasonable cost of living.

Clinical Research Coordinator/Research Nurse

The research department of the Spine Institute of Louisiana (SIL) has an immediate full- time opening for a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC). The CRC will be responsible for planning and executing day-to- day clinical trial activities for the CRC group with accountability to the Director of Clinical Research.

The self-starting multi-tasker we need will use years of CRC experience, team-building acumen, and mentoring skills to help us grow an established research program.

Specific position requirements include:

  • Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) Certification
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and the regulations necessary for the protection of human subjects and the conduct of clinical research
  • Strong understanding of local and federal regulations governing the conduct of clinical research
  • Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, staff and patients
  • Experience with electronic health records system
  • Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret information from professional journals and technical procedures
  • Track record of consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Highly functional in Microsoft Office software programs

Spine Surgeon or Neurosurgeon:

The Spine Institute of Louisiana is looking for a passionate, skilled spine surgeon to join our organization and provide exceptional care to patients coming from both within and outside of the Ark-La-Tex region. 

Potential for partnership in the Spine Institute of Louisiana LLC, in a surgical specialty hospital, and in other horizontally integrated ventures. The ideal candidate will be a board certified or board eligible Orthopedic Spine Surgeon or Neurosurgeon with spine surgery fellowship training.

The Spine Institute of Louisiana is a regional center of spine care excellence offering patients a multispecialty concept unique to this area. The driving force behind the model of our practice is to simplify barriers to treatment while providing compassionate and cohesive spine care to our patients. Our clinic offers convenience as well as a continuum of care that routinely sets the mark higher than the accepted standard of care for the area.  The imaging capabilities within the clinic include a Philips Ingenia 1.5T magnet installed in December 2013 and a full-service radiology department  currently being upgraded to a DR system.

Scheduler/Operator/Floater

The Spine Institute of Louisiana is seeking a polished, professional, and energetic individual to add to our team of professionals:

The successful candidate will have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, great attention to detail; good organizational skills, a solid work ethic, and the diplomacy necessary to appropriately and professionally interact with our patients and other customers.

Required is: 2+ years of physician office experience, computer literacy, previous experience as an operator or scheduler, and MUST have a professional telephone voice and excellent oral communication skills. Needs to be able to thrive in a fast-paced and frequently hectic environment. Must be a skilled, fast, and accurate typist; able to type by touch and transcribe real time.

Experience with Next Gen software preferred.

Duties include scheduling patient appointments, transcribing patient requests and communications, and handling multiple phone calls simultaneously. This position has heavy telephone interaction with patients, physician offices, attorneys, and the public.
