Ajay Jawahar, MS, M.D., joined the Spine Institute of Louisiana in October of 2005 as its Director of Medical Research. He finished his Neurosurgery training in India and has been in the United States since 1999 working primarily in research. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Jawahar also has a masters degree in medical physics. He has published numerous peer-reviewed clinical and basic science articles including six book chapters and has also lectured nationally about spine research and spine surgical procedures and outcomes. Dr. Jawahar has obtained funding for six grants and has been a principal investigator on several projects through different foundations and pharmaceutical companies. He is married to Lisa Jawahar and has three children, Dylan, Stuti, and Eleanor.
